Abyss Guide 101

By EudenSevenJune 1, 2026Updated 6/1/2026

How Abyss Works (quick refresher)

  • One-time clears, three stars per floor. Stars come from kill conditions (e.g., “no deaths,” “under X turns”). You can always come back geared and re-star older floors.
  • Potions are free power. Don’t hoard Purification/Artisan potions and Stigma resets; spend them to push new breakpoints.
  • Team slots & friend supports: Friend units are allowed. Borrow a carry (e.g., Kiris, Taranor Guard, high-geared Soul Weaver) when stuck.
  • Max floor today: Floor 120 (Straze final boss).

Core Prep & MVP Units

You don’t need all of these—think of them as problem-solvers you can mix in.

  • Damage over Time / Debuffing: Kiris (Poison), Taranor Guard (DEF Break + CR push), Commander Lorina (budget ST DPS).
  • Cleanse/Immunity: Tamarinne, Angelica/Montmorancy, Emilia, Destina, Ray.
  • Sustain/Tanking: Crimson Armin (Aurius), Fallen Cecilia, Ruele.
  • Buff Control/Dispels: Basar, Peira, Landy, Flan, Operator Sigret.
  • Special tech picks (late floors): Kitty Clarissa (cleanse/push), ML Rikoris (utility), Celine, Zahhak, Spec Tenebria, Crow, Luna, Arby, Bellian depending on mechanics. (You’ll see these show up in many recent 2024–2025 clears across F90–120.)

Floors 1–90: Smooth sailing

  • Most floors can be auto’d with a standard 1 DPS + 2 heal/support + 1 flex.
  • Start farming stars here once your gear improves. For targeted help on a particular early floor, ping me with the number.

Floors 90–100 (first big spike)

These are the first notable walls for many players.

  • Floor 90 (A. Vildred/Mechanics spike): Heavy AoE and tempo checks; bring cleanse + sustain and kill order discipline. Updated 2024 guides cover safe setups and turn control.

  • Floors 91–94: Crowd control & add phases—AoE DPS helps. Old references exist, but follow updated clears for adjusted stats.

  • Floor 100 – Apocalypse Ravi (multi-phase):

    • Key ideas in recent clears: keep self-buffs up to mitigate heavy damage, deal with Onyx Wyvern add correctly, and manage non-attack skills carefully when relevant to her passives.
    • Multiple 2024–2025 videos break it down; they’re consistent on buff uptime and safe comps (e.g., Tamarinne + cleanser + ST DPS + flex).

Budget teams that still work (F90–100): Kiris DoT + Angelica/Momo + Taranor Guard + flex tank/healer—older Stove threads still match what recent clears do, just with better gear now.

Floors 101–110 (mechanics & tempo checks)

You’ll start seeing “do the mechanic or wipe” patterns.

  • 101 (Furious): Learn add timing and when to swap boss vs. adds; beginners’ guides from 2024 spell out the decision points and safe openers.
  • 102: Popular recent clear paths use Celine/ML Rikoris or Robin style tempo to trivialize certain triggers.
  • 105 – notorious wall: Expect strict turn management, reliable cleanse, and robust sustain. If you slam into this, re-gear your Soul Weavers and consider a mitigation aura (Aurius) + DEF break consistency.
  • 110: Considered a milestone; if you’re doing Heir’s Path tasks, note that community discussion references F110 as a requirement target for some steps.

Floors 111–119 (hard, but consistent with the right tech)

  • These introduce punishing passives, shields, and “non-attack skill” traps.
  • Double Soul Weaver lineups are common (cleanse + CR push + sustain) with a single consistent ST DPS and one flex control slot.
  • There’s a full playlist with 111–120 solo clears and commentary showing stable comps (often double SW + DPS + tech).
  • 114 is widely disliked—bring Green Soul Weavers if you’ve got them and expect some RNG.
  • 119: Frequently solved by double Soul Weaver and careful cycling per recent videos.

Floor 120 – Final Boss (Straze)

This is the current end of Abyss. The fight is very scripted; once you respect the rules, it becomes consistent.

Core mechanics (as shown in modern clears):

  • Focus the boss only. Adds and distractions are bait—ignoring them is standard in up-to-date clears.

  • Strip & break shields on schedule; maintain DEF break.

  • Avoid creating self-punish windows: some passives punish non-attack skills used at bad times—time your souls and S2/S3s around his thresholds.

  • Recommended shells:

    • Taranor Guard (DEF break + CR push),
    • Kitty Clarissa (cleanse/push),
    • Double Soul Weaver (e.g., Emilia/Tama/Destina/Ray),
    • 1 single-target DPS (consistent, high uptime). Recent 2024–2025 clears and Stove writeups align on these patterns; multiple creators show gear at start/end and note that Rage on DPS helps but isn’t mandatory.

Quick Loadouts that keep working (late floors)

  • Double SW core: Tamarinne/Emilia/Destina/Ray pair (cleanse + CR push)
  • DEF break bot: Taranor Guard (85%+ Effectiveness; tanky enough to not fold)
  • Carry DPS: Safe single-target like Luna/Zahhak/Arby/your best geared ST bruiser
  • Tech 4th: Kitty Clarissa / Basar / Flan / Operator Sigret / Bellian depending on whether you need strip, anti-buff, or self-cleanse

Troubleshooting checklist (when you brick a run)

  1. Are your healers fast enough? Aim for 200–240+ speed on at least one SW for turn priority on cleanses.
  2. Do you have reliable DEF break? Missing this doubles the time to kill and makes mechanics spiral.
  3. Are you timing non-attack skills? Especially from 111+, firing S2/S3 at the wrong time will proc punishments (watch the latest floor guides before pulling the trigger).
  4. Artifact swaps: Aurius on a knight, Celestine on a healer, Proof/Draco/Portrait/Exorcist’s Tonfa on DPS—these are still meta-relevant choices across recent clears.
  5. Borrow a friend carry. It’s allowed and often the difference maker for 3-stars on older floors.

“By Floor” Pointers (fast lookup)

Rather than overwhelming you with 120 micro-sections, here are the ones most people ask about, with fresh clears you can watch:

  • 90: Turn control + sustain basics (2024 update).
  • 91: Updated route for the CC/add pattern (2024/2025).
  • 92: Modern safe strategy.
  • 100 (A. Ravi): Multiple 2024 tutorials—buff uptime, add handling.
  • 101: Beginner’s guide (adds vs. boss targeting).
  • 105: Known wall—bring real cleanse/mitigation.
  • 111–120: Full modern playlist + individual 119/120 breakdowns.
  • 114: Bring Green SWs if possible; RNG feels high.
  • 120 (Straze): Current end—shield strip, non-attack timing, focus boss; TG + Kitty + double SW common.
